Medical and first response training

Our 3D interactive solutions simulate medical and first response training scenarios in detail

Training medical personnel and first responders is currently based on classes and live drills. Live drills are costly and difficult to organize, and can be attended only by a limited number of trainees. Moreover, due to safety and technical constraints, the details and the realism of live drills and classes are limited, and thus do not simulate adequately real-world situations. In addition, the emotions and level of stress such scenarios evoke do not come even close to what one experiences when involved in real emergencies.

What solutions do we offer?

We offer 3D interactive training solutions that simulate medical and first response scenarios in every needed detail. Once a scenario is created, it is available every day to any trainee, at no additional cost. The mobile versions of our solutions run on smartphones and tablets, making trainees able to experience the scenarios at any time and place is convenient for them. The immersive version runs on low-cost, latest-generation Virtual Reality headsets, offering trainees even more realism and immersion, and an emotionally-rich experience that can be used for stress inoculation protocols to increase personal resilience.

What are the benefits of using our VR software?

The international, peer-reviewed, published studies that evaluated our applications showed that they are more effective than traditional educational materials at obtaining Learning, Knowledge retention, Knowledge transfer, Engagement, Efficiency, Error prevention, and also Personal resilience factors, such as perception of control over emergencies (internal Locus of Control) and self-efficacy.

AVIETRA's co-founders have worked with medical and first responders organizations (Emergency Medical Services, Hospitals, Firefighters) to study their needs and the main factors involved in the design and evaluation of training applications. The images in this section show applications developed for hospitals and emergency medical services.

What customizations are available?

Our software can be fully tailored to meet any client need.

Customizations can concern every aspect of the virtual experiences such as:

  • the environment (indoor/outdoor scenarios, virtual avatars, emergency equipment),
  • the checklists and procedures (specific actions to perform, sequences of actions, decision criteria, etc.),
  • the feedback users receive (any visual, sound, voice feedback in response to user’s actions, tailored debriefing and instruction, ...).

Moreover, the software can be extended with new scenarios or features such as usage data export.
